    eczema on neck

    Hi All,
My baby boy age 16 months got some skin inflammation on both side of the neck as well as some redness at the joints (hands). When it started I did not pay much attention thinking it will be alright with more powder. When the neck starts to have skin inflammation after 3 weeks to 4 weeks. I got it cured in 3 to 5 days. I just want to share what I did and hopefully it may help your baby.

Steps Taken for first 7 days
    (1) Chlorhexidine 0.5% solution (The purpose is to clean the wound free of bacteria)
    (2) Cetaphil Baby Bath & Wash (Wash the wound area, basically normal bathing with normal temperature water)
    (3) Fucicort Cream by LEO (Apply thinly on the wound area, maximum 7 days. I saw the effect within 2 to 3 days)
    (4) Cetaphil Eczema Calming Moisturizer (Apply over Fucicort Cream)

    Steps Taken after 7 days
    Repeat (2) and (4)

Hey, thanks for the sharing. Be slightly careful with Fucicort! Babies and children up to four years generally should not be treated with dermal steroids (and if so, not longer than 3 weeks). http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/profs/dat...icortcream.pdf
