I was with Dr Mahesh Choolani but I wasn't very happy with him. He has prescribed iron pills for me but when I switch to my current gynae, I was informed that iron pills should be taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach for better absorption but more importantly it should not be taken with any other food especially milk which I have been taking when I was with Dr Choolani as the nutrient may not be fully absorbed. I was advised by the nurse of my current gynae and it is even on the label on the box of the iron pills that they gave me that I should wait 1 to 2 hours before taking any food after taking the iron pills. I searched on Google and found the same explanation as well. I wished the nurse of Dr Mahesh Choolani could have been more careful by informing their patients about this.

Yes I took Iron pills 1st thing in the morning as well on an empty stomach as recommended by my gynae, so which gynae are you visiting now?

You can consider seeing Dr TC Chang or Dr Ann Tan, both doctors specialise in high risk pregnancy for older mom. I am currently seeing Dr TC Chang as he is pretty good in doing detailed ultrasound scanning.

Hi Jakia, I would personally recommend dr. Ann Tan. The last time I visited her clinic was when a family member gave birth. I would just hear my sis before that she's going for fetal growth assessment and her gynae is very nice. so yeah, dr. Tan specialise in overall obstetrics and high risk pregnancies too. i think the comprehensive treatment is worth the price in the end. if u want to check it further i researched the site here for you

I had a really bad experience with Doctor Choolani. Questions were never answered properly. No advice or direction was given during the pregnancy. During hospitalization, he was absent when we needed treatment. Occassionally he would walk in for 2 min, and later bill us exorbitantly for that 2 min visit which was of no avail. On top of that his charges are exorbitant, and his total bill will be 3 times the actual package u expect. Really not worth it

Yes I know what you mean, he is not as passionate, I have this feeling he only like to treat non-Singaporean. I switch to other doctor after my 1st trimester as I was high-risk and someone recommended him to me at the beginning.
